The sun had begun its descent, casting long shadows across the marble floors of the grand palace of Mahawargarh. Rani Rajshree sat on the balcony, her fingers tracing the intricate designs on her mehndi-stained hands, her mind a whirlpool of thoughts. She could feel the weight of the world pressing against her chest, the air thick with unspoken words and hidden fears.
“Maa!” The cheerful voice of five year old , Yuvraj Atharv, broke through her reverie. He raced into the balcony, his small feet barely making a sound on the cold stone. “Look what I found!” He held out a small, colorful bird that fluttered in his hands, its wings beating frantically against his palms.
Rajshree's heart swelled with love and pride, but a shadow lurked in the corners of her mind. The kingdom was facing unrest; whispers of dissent had begun to ripple through the court, and her husband, Rana Adheer, was often lost in his thoughts, his charcoal eyes clouded with burdens she could not share. “Atharv, be gentle,” she said, her voice soft but firm. “The bird is frightened.”
He nodded, releasing the creature into the air where it soared towards the setting sun. “Will it come back?” he asked, his innocent eyes wide with hope.
“Sometimes, things don’t always return as we wish,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. In that moment, she felt a pang of longing for the days when their lives were uncomplicated, filled with laughter and love, not entangled in the complexities of a contract marriage.
Just then, Rana Adheer stepped onto the balcony, his presence commanding and yet somehow distant. He surveyed the horizon, his jaw set tight. “atharv you daimaa is calling you ” he asked, though his gaze remained fixed on the far-off mountains.( Nanny)
"Shree hame apse kuch bat kerni hai . Kya soch rhi hai app"he says as his dark charcoal eyes finding the answer in her blue eyes ..
Both know that both have a dark past but no one have the courage to ask from each other .
“Nothing that a little bird cannot handle,” she said lightly, but the smile faltered on her lips as she caught the look in his eyes. “You’ve been restless. What is it?”
He turned to her, his expression unreadable. “It's nothing just the time is near we have to get into it . Hamare pass vakt ab kam hai apke bratashree jald hi yudh ki ghosna ker sakte hai . Sayad uske baad app yha se ajad ho jye it bandhan se ajad. Sayad apko hamse aur Jada nafrat ho jye .apko kya lagta hai shree? .” His voice was low, laced with an intensity and for the first time his voice get soft front of her in this one year of marriage that made Rajshree’s heart race. “I cannot afford to show any sign of vulnerability, especially now.”because she knows it's going to end of their marriage and for their kingdom they can do any thing maybe the can kill each other too or maybe not...
Rajshree’s heart sank. The very foundation of their relationship was built on the contract that had bound them together, one that she had hoped would evolve into something deeper. But now, it seemed that the very thing that had once offered her security was becoming a source of strife. “What can I do?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Stay close to Atharv,” he replied, his gaze softening as he glanced at their son playing in the garden below. “The kingdom needs a strong heir and a united front. If they see you both together, they may think twice before challenging my rule.”
Before Rajshree could respond, a commotion erupted from the courtyard. A shout pierced the air, drawing their attention. “Your Highness! A messenger from the northern borders!” A young soldier appeared, breathless and disheveled, his uniform stained with mud.
“What news?” RANASA demanded, his authoritative tone brooking no delay.
“The northern tribes have gathered, Your Highness! Within one month they will came near our boarder and. Yuvraj abhijeet is also with them ”
Rajshree felt icy fingers grip her heart. This was the very conflict that had been brewing for months. Would it unravel everything they had fought to build?
“Prepare the court,” Adheer ordered, his voice steady, but Rajshree noticed the flicker of uncertainty in his eyes. He turned to her, and for a brief moment, the walls between them lowered. “shree, I need you by atharv side no matter what he need his ""maa"" he got you after so many years no matter what happens to me take him with you this kingdom needs him .”
She nodded, determination surging within her. Whatever lay ahead, they would face it together, as a family, as rulers of Mahawargarh.
As they descended the steps to the courtyard, Rajshree’s mind raced. Unresolved issues lingered in the air, and the threat of turmoil loomed closer than ever. But amid the chaos, a flicker of hope ignited within her—a belief that love, however bound by the chains of duty, could still light the way through the darkest of times.
With each step, the shadows of Mahawargarh grew longer, but Rajshree was ready to confront whatever darkness awaited them. The future of their kingdom depended on it, and she would not allow fear to dictate their fate.
As they approached the gathered crowd, a figure emerged from the shadows, an unexpected ally with a hidden agenda, ready to change the course of their lives forever.
